• From Transit Hub to Strategic Center: The South Caucasus in a Changing International and Regional Order

An analysis of the South Caucasus’ transformation from a transit region into an emerging center of geopolitical and strategic significance amid shifting global dynamics.

• Azerbaijan as a Regional Leader: The Consolidation of a New Status

Azerbaijan’s ongoing efforts in promoting multilateral diplomacy, the growing international recognition of the country’s emerging status as a middle power, and the implications of this for the region.

• External Actors: Balanced Engagement in Recognition of Regional Realities

Assessing how external partners (such as the United States, the European Union, China and others) can contribute to shaping a stable and cooperative regional order in the South Caucasus.

• Partnership and Diplomacy in the Wider Caspian Region – Lessons from the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and C6

Assessing the deepening strategic significance of regional frameworks such as the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and C6, and existing opportunities for broader cooperation.

The Caucasus Strategic Perspectives journal invites submissions for its upcoming Winter 2026 issue. We welcome original and thought-provoking contributions that focus on new regional realities in the South Caucasus, emphasizing the importance of connectivity, partnership and diplomacy as essential pathways to consolidating long-term stability in the region. While the next issue is to focus primarily on these areas, we also welcome high-quality manuscripts on any related and relevant strategic issues concerning the Caucasus and its neighboring regions.

Submission Guidelines:

Articles: 3,000–5,000 words (maximum), including abstract, footnotes, title, and subheadings; Commentaries: 2,200–2500 words, including all the above components; All submissions must be in a Microsoft Word-compatible format; Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another publication at the time of submission; For complete formatting and citation requirements, please refer to the “Guidelines for Authors” section on our website: www.cspjournal.az.
